Over a decade of contributing to human breakthroughs in WA
Linear was founded in 2010 as a visionary, collaborative venture by its parent company, The Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research in partnership with the Departments of Health and Commerce. Since then, our team and thousands of volunteer contributors have helped in the discovery of life-changing medical treatments and advancing knowledge in health science.
- Volunteers are in safe hands. Linear has reliably run over 450 clinical trials, including first-in-human, first-in-patient, early and late-phase clinical trials, and oncology studies.
- Clinical trials of medications and medical therapies have the power to change thousands of lives for the better and advance humanity’s knowledge through scientific discovery.
- We provide hope to families through access to clinical trials at our Advanced Clinical Trials Centre for those facing life-threatening cancer diagnoses. And while healthy volunteers for early-phase clinical trials are paid for their time, it’s rarely the sole reason for participating. It’s also about doing something for the greater good!

Clinical trials in Perth lead the world in safety
Rigorous ethical oversight
Every trial is approved by an independent ethics committee, ensuring the highest standards of ethics and safety. These committees are registered with the Australian Government’s National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).
International standards and certification
All trials are conducted in accordance with international guidelines, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP). We comply with regulatory standards set by TGA (Australia), FDA (USA), EMA (EU), and Medicines Australia.
Comprehensive informed consent and medical checks
Every volunteer undergoes a thorough informed consent session to understand the specifics of the trial. Additionally, health checks are performed by doctors to ensure suitability and safety.
Awarded and trusted by industry peers and government
Linear is a winner of multiple national and WA Export Awards for business services and biotechnology, including the Premier’s Award for Excellence.
