Help Test a New Treatment for Inflammatory Bowel Disease
This clinical study is evaluating a new potential treatment for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a chronic gastrointestinal disease characterised by intestinal inflammation. IBD includes Crohn's Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC), both of which cause swelling and ulceration in the inner wall of the gastrointestinal tract and can present with diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fatigue and weight loss.
The cause of IBD is not fully understood, but it is thought to be linked to problems with the immune system, changes in the gut bacteria, and genetic factors.
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of single and multiple doses and potential side effects of the study drug in healthy adult participants.
